Residence certificate
A residence certificate is a document made by immigration to certify where a foreigner lives.
This document can be used for many things : getting a Thai car driving’s license , motorcycle driving’s license,
buying a car , getting a bank account.(Some banks that accept these documents. Please contact information the bank for further inquiries before proceeding)
The required documents :
- Passport
- Receipt of Notification (TM.30)
- Departure Card (TM.6) ( if any)
- 2 photos (4×6 cm.)
- Rental agreement of house, condominium or apartment
- 90 days notification documents
Report 90 Days
An alien who has been permitted to stay temporarily in the Kingdom then. If you live in the Kingdom over 90 days, such alien is required to report to inform housing to employees the Office of Immigration every 90 days if any locality have made immigration is to inform the competent office of the time. Subject to Section 37 (5) of the Immigration Act 2522
Note:
- The notiication of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days is in no way equivalent to a visa extension.
- If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000 Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000 Baht.
- If a foreigner leaves the country and re-enters, the day count starts at 1 in every case
Re-entry Permit :
For foreigners who hold any kinds of Visa and get the permission to stay in Thailand from the Immigration officer, Re-Entry Permit will be used. Re-Entry Permit will keep your privilege (the specified-period) to return to Thailand without asking for the new Visa from Thai Embassy, which located in abroad. Aliens who have visas that can be lived in Thailand long-term if you want to travel to foreign countries and returned to the Kingdom again with t he original visa before departing the Kingdom must be made before the Re-Entry, which made possible the following two.
- Single Re-Entry form is available from time to time to travel abroad for those who travel to foreign countries do not fly out frequently
- Multiple Re-entries is a devil can travel in - from more than one time for you to travel to - often from overseas.
If any alien has a visa and then do as Non-Immigrant Visa (Non-B) and then flew off to foreign countries not to Re-Entry before leaving to go abroad. Visa has come mostly through changes to phor.30 or phor.90 through the leaves will not be able to ask permission before work can continue.
But for foreigners with a Visa Non - immigrant visa - Multiple Do not Re - Entry visas unless they change as a year ago to Re-Entry visa to the former.
T.M.30
The TM30 Report is a notification from the landlord as to where the foreigner has stayed and was established as far back as 40 years ago. Essentially, the TM30 allows the Thai government to know where each foreigner is staying. As stated in Section 38 of the 1979 Immigration Act,
"Landlords and leaseholders that receive a non-immigrant resident on their premises, have a legal obligation to report that individual to Thai immigration; this report needs to be completed within a 24-hour period of the non-immigrant resident’s arrival."
In short, landlords who rent out properties to foreign tenants are responsible for reporting that individual's attendance to an immigration office within 24 hours of the foreign tenant checking in, meaning landlords have only this much time to file the report accordingly. Failure to comply with reporting and submitting the TM30 report accordingly will result in some consequences, which will be detailed shortly.
